Vacation to your own backyard!
Koi ponds, pondless waterfalls, fountains and the care that keeps them running, for homes in Austin and the rest of Travis County.
Austin is where WaterScape works out of, and it is where most of what we build goes in. Since 1999 we have been designing, building and caring for koi ponds, pondless waterfalls and fountains for homes across the city and the surrounding counties, and we have held Master Certified Aquascape Contractor status since 2007.
A water feature does something to an Austin backyard that planting cannot. It brings sound, which covers traffic and neighbors, and it brings movement and cool air to a space that is otherwise still and hot for half the year. That is the whole idea behind taking a vacation in your own backyard, and it is why most of our clients end up spending time outside that they did not before.
Austin asks a lot of a water feature. Summers run long and hot, water warms fast and holds less oxygen the hotter it gets, and the ground under most of this town is limestone and caliche rather than anything that digs easily. A pond built without accounting for that goes green in July, loses level faster than the owner expects, and ends up stocked with fish that struggle.
The same yard, built properly, supports a feature that holds clear water through the worst of August. That is why we design around depth, shade, circulation and real filtration from the start, and why the shortcuts that work in milder climates do not survive a Travis County summer. It is also why we would rather walk the yard before quoting anything, because sun exposure and grade change the answer more than square footage does.
Everything we do, we do here. New builds run through koi pond installation, including pondless waterfalls for yards that want the sound without open water. Existing features are covered by water feature maintenance for routine care and pond cleaning when it is time to drain, wash and reset the whole thing.
If a pond was built short on filtration or the rock work has gone wrong, pond upgrades fix the build rather than working around it, and that includes older cement water features that never held water properly. For yards that want moving water in a smaller footprint, or ponds that need oxygen through the summer, there is fountain and aeration installation.
We have been doing this since 1999, which in this trade mostly means we have seen how builds age. Holding Master Certified Aquascape Contractor status since 2007 matters for the same practical reason: the ponds we put in around Austin are assembled to a standard somebody can service later, with equipment that can still be sourced years from now.
We are family owned, so the person who looks at your yard is not handing you off to a crew that never spoke to you. We work on water features we did not build, which is worth saying out loud, because plenty of companies will only touch their own. And advice and estimates on new and existing features are free. Whether you are starting from grass or inheriting somebody else's pond, call (512) 333-1999 and we will come look.
