Vacation to your own backyard!
Koi ponds, pondless waterfalls, fountains and the care that keeps them running, for homes in Marble Falls and the rest of Burnet County.
Marble Falls sits in granite country at the edge of the Highland Lakes, and the ground here is different from the limestone closer to Austin. That changes a water feature project in ways worth knowing before you plan one.
Granite outcrops mean excavation can run into rock that does not yield, which shapes where a feature can realistically go. It also means the obstacle sometimes becomes the best part of the design, since existing stone makes a better waterfall backdrop than anything we could truck in. We cover Burnet County out of Austin and have been building since 1999.
Many properties around Marble Falls are second homes or lake places that sit empty for stretches at a time, and that is a real design input rather than a detail. A water feature that nobody visits for three weeks has to be built to run unattended.
That is mostly a filtration and automation question. Enough biological capacity that the pond does not fall behind without someone skimming it, automatic top-off so evaporation in a Central Texas summer does not drop the level below the skimmer and burn out a pump, and equipment placed where a neighbor or a service visit can reach it easily. Built that way, you arrive to clear water instead of a project. Built without it, every trip starts with an hour of work.
New builds go through koi pond installation, with the local stone often working its way into the feature rather than being hauled off.
For properties that are not occupied full time, water feature maintenance on a schedule is the difference between arriving to clear water and arriving to a problem, and pond cleaning handles the deeper reset. Pond upgrades cover features that cannot run on their own, and fountain and aeration installation suits smaller spaces and larger ponds short on oxygen.
Burnet County is a drive from Austin, and we go. Having built water features since 1999 and carried Master Certified Aquascape Contractor status since 2007, we would rather set up a feature here that holds on its own between visits than one that needs somebody standing over it every week.
We are family owned, and we service features we did not install, which is often the situation on a property that has changed hands a few times. Advice and estimates are free, so call (512) 333-1999 to talk through what makes sense out here.
