What a Water Feature Does for a Bee Cave Yard

Newer construction dominates Bee Cave, and new construction tends to arrive with a yard that is technically finished and completely flat in character. Sod, a few beds along the fence, and nothing to look at or listen to.

A water feature is one of the few additions that changes the feel of that kind of space immediately, because it brings sound and movement rather than just more plant material. We have been building ponds, waterfalls and fountains west of Austin since 1999, and a good number of our Bee Cave projects are the first real thing to happen in a yard since the builder left.

Working With Builder Landscaping

The catch with newer lots is what is under them. Builder landscaping often sits on compacted fill, with irrigation lines and utilities running through it in ways nobody mapped for the homeowner. Putting a pond into that means knowing what is down there before the first shovel goes in, and it means planning around sprinkler zones that will be cut if you ignore them.

Compacted fill also behaves differently from undisturbed ground when you excavate, so edges and liner placement need more attention to hold their shape. The other half of the job is visual: a feature dropped into the middle of a flat sodded yard looks dropped in. Getting it to read as though it was always there is a matter of grading the surround, planting into it, and setting rock so the transition from lawn to water is not a hard line.

What We Build and Service in Bee Cave

Most Bee Cave work starts with koi pond installation, and a pondless waterfall is the frequent choice here, since these are family neighborhoods and open water is often not wanted with young kids around. Fountain and aeration installation is the common pick for courtyards and smaller side yards where a full pond would crowd the space.

Once a feature is in, water feature maintenance keeps it running, pond cleaning resets it when debris builds up, and pond upgrades sort out anything that was underbuilt the first time around.

Why Bee Cave Homeowners Call WaterScape

There are a lot of people in this market who will install a pond and never come back. We have been doing this since 1999 and we service what we build, along with plenty of features other companies left behind.

Master Certified Aquascape Contractor since 2007 is shorthand for the same idea: standard systems, documented parts, nothing improvised that cannot be diagnosed later. Being family owned keeps it simple, since the person quoting the job is the person accountable for it.
